About Artist
I worked as a reporter at The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky for nearly 30 years. In the last half of my career there, I reviewed movies and was the newspaper’s theater critic. During that time, I also served as board member, treasurer and vice president of the American Theatre Critics Association.
The state of Kentucky honored my coverage of the arts in October 2009 with a prestigious Governor’s Award in the Arts. Eight others, including Oscar-winning actor George Clooney, were also recognized for their artistic achievements. For more information about the awards, visit the Kentucky Arts Council website at http://artscouncil.ky.gov and click on Showcasing Kentucky arts.
My interest in art and literature stems from growing up in a Kentucky family that cared about nature, books, music, food, and people.
I am a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Kentucky and a long-time member of the Kentucky Watercolor Society. My award-winning paintings are held in private collections and have been exhibited in juried shows, including the Kentucky Watercolor Society’s national Aqueous show.
