Judith Egerton
KENTUCKY ARTIST

Welcome to my web site!

Water has always been my element. I gravitated to lakes and pools as a child and teenager where I swam for fun and competition. As an adult, I find painting with water as joyful and exciting as ice skating, a sport on frozen water that I enjoy with my synchro skating team.

My enthusiasm for watercolor as an artistic medium lies in its organic, spontaneous nature and the way it tells a story with pigment in a surprising way. It’s thrilling to combine watercolor with collage and other techniques while allowing one’s subconscious to emerge through the creative process.

Subjects for my watercolors and pastel art include abstract images, floral, fruit, landscapes, portraits, horses and other animals. My paintings are an attempt to capture nature’s beauty, organic shapes, motion and emotion with water, paper and paint.

You are invited to stop by the JanJobe Gallery in the Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center, 1860 Mellwood Drive, Louisville. This beautiful gallery owned and operated by local artists is a wonderful place to find handcrafted gifts and art for the home. Note cards printed from my original horse and jockey paintings and a large watercolor of apples are for sale there.
